Hi Cinnamon,
you are exactly right with your choice to buy a european spec. The difference between the US and european model is huge. Not only the HP also the whole arrangement (additional and/or larger Radiators for engine oil, rear axle diff, steeringpump,a.s.o.) to keep the temperature down to a acceptable level, especially when you are driving continually with higher speed.
The model was sold between 1990 and 1996 in germany for 106.000DM. You have to search for a good one which isn´t over-tuned.
As Blueside said, forget Nissan dealership they know about the 300ZXTT like .....
